You may be wondering why you need a professional chimney sweep to service your fireplace. As an accredited chimney sweep my job is not only just about the sweep. It is important to me to give my customers the best service. This will start from the moment we first have contact. When I come to your home I will treat your property with care and respect.
It is part of my job to make observations; I will look at your chimney stack/ flue system from the outside to see if there are any obstructions, if you have been experiencing issues I may advise a CCTV inspection to see inside these. During sweeping I will be looking at what comes down from the chimney, this could be anything from general soot to creosote or even twigs which could be a sign of a bird’s nest obstructing your chimney. I will also be able to offer advice on how to get the best out of your fire. On completion I will issue a certificate, these are often needed for insurance purposes and without one it could make your home insurance invalid should you have a chimney fire.
